What is "Christian Based" counseling?"

Christian based counseling integrates our Christian faith with psychological principles to address common problems of everyday living. The psychological approaches we use respect the teachings of the Bible. We respect the religious beliefs of our clients and do not impose our beliefs on our clients.

What is considered 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

24 hours is determined by your appointment time. (If your appointment is at 9:00 am on Tuesday, it needs to be cancelled by 9:00 am on Monday.) Monday appointments should be cancelled on Friday before 12:00 noon with the office staff. In the case of a holiday, one business day prior to the holiday closing is required for all appointments scheduled on the day following the holiday.

Why does LHCC charge for late cancellations and missed appointments?

Your session date and time are requested by you. Your therapist has set aside that time for you and you only. A client who needs to be seen missed an opportunity to be seen if you don’t cancel. Your therapist will need to know the reason for the late cancellation or missed appointment in order to determine possible fees.

What is required to schedule an initial appointment?

You will need to have your health insurance card available when you call. For clients under the age of 18, the parent or legal guardian will be required to schedule and attend the initial appointment. Clients over the age of 18 are required to speak with the office staff to schedule their appointment.

What if I’m a parent of a “legal age” client and carry the insurance coverage but my child hasn’t signed a release of information for me?

Once the client reaches 18 years of age, then the client gets to decide how information, if any is released to others. If the client is still living at home, then we explain to the client the need to include parents in their treatment.

Why did I not receive a confirmation call from your office?

Confirmation calls are attempted as a courtesy to our clients, time permitting, to a single phone number given by you. In the case of an emergency, we will attempt to reach a client at all approved numbers on file. Please keep our office updated on any changes in contact information.

The length of treatment is determined by you and your therapist based on your individual needs. The session length is 53 minutes.
