I have been in the counseling field since 1995. I enjoy working with a variety of issues. I especially enjoy working with
adolescents and their families, as well as adults suffering from
depression, anxiety, stress, and relational difficulties. Specific
specialties include parenting issues and anger management.
I
believe that counseling is an active process that requires the client
and the therapist to work together to achieve specific goals set out
during counseling.
I received my master’s degree in counseling in 1995 and became licensed as a professional counselor in 1999. I have been the director of the Assertive Community Team in LaGrange, Georgia where I worked intensively with severely impaired schizophrenics, and was also Program Director at Laurel Heights Hospital, a residential treatment program in Atlanta. As a result of my work experience, I am comfortable working with people that other therapists refer out.
