Welcome to Lighthouse Counseling Center, P.C. a Christian counseling center that seeks to help people deal with life’s stressors. Our experienced psychologists and counselors provide professional and compassionate care to children, adolescents, families, couples, and individuals. We provide support and direction for persons experiencing anyone of a number of issues including: depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, and marital conflict. While our core beliefs are Christian, we are open to helping people of all faiths and do not impose our beliefs on our clients. |

Bipolar Group
Group Leader: Laura Thompson, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist
Description: This open, ongoing group will be both psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic. The focus of the group is on understanding bipolar illness, its symptoms, and its treatment. The group will help patients to cope more effectively with their illness and maintain stability and daily functioning by improving compliance with medications and sleep routine, improving coping with stress, recognizing early warning signs of mania and depression, and avoiding behaviors that exacerbate symptoms.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Group
Group Leader: Laura Thompson, PhD, Licensed Psychologist
Description: This is a weekly open, on-going group for women who have suffered a trauma at any time in the past which continues to cause symptoms and reactions. The traumatic event may be childhood physical or sexual abuse, rape, assault, or domestic violence, etc.The traumatic event may be associated with a decline in functioning, depression, anxiety, intrusive memories, nightmares, sleep disruption, or other such symptoms.
